Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join our client based in Redhill on a long-term contract with possible extension, this role is working on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 3 days a week onsite.
The ideal Employee Relations Advisor will support in the delivery of a fully comprehensive, high quality and timely in an Employee Relations support service. The ideal candidate will support the senior Relations Advisor in ensuring comprehensive management of Employee Relations cases, providing a professional service that meets all legislative and policy requirements.
The duties of the Employee Relations Advisor include:
- To provide professional ER and HR advise and support to managers in all areas of employment relations such as grievance, disciplinary, absence management and more
- Ensure that problems are identified and resolved quickly, effectively, and fairly, and that throughout all processes there is comprehensive and effective communication with staff and their representatives
- Advise managers and staff on the interpretation and application of Employee Relations terms and conditions of the organisation
- To support the manager in the development of the investigation report and support the presentation of the findings at the hearing. Coach the manager through this process
- To attend formal ER meetings as appropriate and advice managers on documentation and correspondence, ensuring consistency and accuracy and best practice
- Support the Senior Employee Relations Advisor and HR Business Partners with the effective management of and the preparation for Employment Tribunal Claims undertaking relevant duties as delegated
- Support the Senior Employee Relations Advisor to produce and monitor monthly employment relations data for key performance indicators
- Support the interpretation of the employment relations data, identify any problem areas and work with Trust managers to address them
- Support the Senior Employee Relations Advisor to provide monthly feedback reports on Employee Relations activity to the Workforce senior team
- Lead on supporting managers to proactively manage short term sickness cases, by reviewing reports sent to managers identifying cases that have triggered under the Trust's sickness absence policy
- To work to strict deadlines and prioritise many conflicting demands on workload
- To provide professional advice and support as a full Panel member in employment related hearings, providing guidance to managers to determine appropriate action in line with Trust policies, legislation and best practice
- To assist the Senior Employee Relations Advisor in developing and delivering training to Trust managers on ER matters to develop the capability of managers to deal with employment and performance issues fairly and consistently across the organisation
- To provide advice and guidance to Trust managers with the development of job descriptions and person specifications in line with the Agenda for Change job evaluation and methodology
The Employee Relations Advisor will ideally have:
- Experience within the public sector
- CIPD Qualified or equivalent HR experience
- Knowledge with up-to-date employment law legislation and best practice
- Experience of provide ER advice and guidance to managers
The Employee Relations Advisor will need to have excellent communication skills and effectively be able to communicate to stakeholders of all levels. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have an impeccable eye for detail and accuracy to ensure all workload is carried out effectively and efficiently. They will also need to able to prioritise their workload and be efficient and effective to meet unpredictable deadlines and deal with conflicting demands, whilst working in a high-pressured environment.
