As Employee Relations Assistant you will work closely with the Employee Relations team, managing a varied caseload from low level through to more complex cases. You will support the ER Advisors as they assist and guide managers through the process ensuring the processes are followed and the correct outcomes are reached.
Responsibilities will include:
- Timely liaison with solicitors, including the provision of information and chasing outstanding information as appropriate.
- Liaison with the witness to ensure that their statements are drafted and finalised within the required timescales.
- Co-ordination with all parties to ensure that all witnesses are available in accordance with the Employment Tribunal schedule.
- To support managers and other key witnesses by explaining the procedure and keeping them up to date on emerging issues and minimise any anxiety associated with Employment Tribunal proceedings.
- Support the designated ER Advisors and ER Managers on other HR issues.
- The preparation of information, letters and documentation as required.
- Advising managers as appropriate on staff terms and conditions
- To actively support the Employee Relations Team with the ER case management system (Assure/Selenity)
To be successful in this role you will need:
- A strong track record working within Employee Relations and the ability to manage a high volume of cases
- Exposure to working in a Unionised setting
- A confident and professional approach with strong coaching skills
- Experience in a Telephone based company
- Experience working in a shared service environment
- Strong computer software skills
- Knowledge of Data Protection Legislation
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work unsupervised and to use initiative
- Understand the importance of confidentiality
