I-work is part of the Maximising Independence Service (MIS) which focuses on early resolution, prevention, promoting independence, wellbeing and employment for all people. We work creatively and draw from a wide range of sources to improve outcomes for people using a strengths-based approach. You will need to be a skilled communicator for this role as our work is focused on having good quality conversations with people and employers who need our help and support. We actively listen to understand what is important to the person, what their strengths are and how we can build on these. To be successful in this role you need to put the person at the very heart of everything you do and identify options and solutions to help people achieve their goals.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join the i-work team working across Nottinghamshire to support adults with learning disabilities and autism into paid work. You will be responsible for brokering opportunities with employers, as well as working closely with people to deliver 1 to 1 support in job search, application, travel, interviews and work-based support and training. You must be a flexible and reliable team member, able to work on your own initiative. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is having access to a vehicle and being able to drive. A taxi service will be provided where disability precludes this.
