This is an exciting opportunity to join the RMBC Employment Solutions Team as part of the Skills and Employment South Yorkshire project which is funded by UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). The project has been running successfully since January 2024, supporting the Rotherham Community to access training, education, and employment. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful and dynamic team as an Employment Solutions Officer.
You will need to be an individual who is highly motivated and well organised and a problem solver. As part of this role, you will offer holistic support to help remove barriers, working with partners and providers to improve Rotherham’s economic prosperity by enabling our people to reach their goals and aspirations. This is a flexible role with some opportunity for hybrid working.

You will have a proven track record in:-
- Effective communication, dealing with customers both face to face and over the telephone.
- Providing advice and support to customers on matters to access employment and training.
- Understanding how to support tenants undergoing welfare reform changes and mitigate risks.
- Multi-agency working to deliver a cost effective, bespoke service.
- Employment and training/education initiatives
The successful candidate will have:-
- Good Communications and listening skills
- An ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, colleagues and third parties.
- An ability to interpret and follow policies and procedures.
- Experience of working in an advisory position and able to develop action plans for employment, education, and training to support customers to achieve goals.
- Experience of providing advice on CV, applications, job hunting and interview techniques
- Experience of building relationships with stakeholders to achieve a better outcome.

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year.
