Are you looking for a career supporting vulnerable adults into employment?
The Employment Support team, operate across London, Leicester, Bristol, Brighton, and Oxford/Reading, supporting a caseload of clients (both from St. Mungo's and also external supporting organisations) to move into sustainable, paid work. We use something called the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) employment model, which is not only evidence based, but it's proven to be the most effective way of moving clients with perceived barriers into competitive employment.
We're not just any employment programme. Instead of encouraging clients to engage with endless training to get 'job ready', we focus on exploring the skills and abilities clients already have, and then support them to apply for the jobs that they really want to do.
About you
If you are in a client facing role, then you already have some key transferable skills that would make you a brilliant Employment Specialist. These include:
- Experience of working with clients with complex needs
- Experience of working within the homelessness sector and enabling clients to move on into sustainable housing
- The ability to work in a multi-agency approach way, liaising with probation, social care services, local councils, and authorities etc.
- Experience of working with (or knowledge of) the benefits system
If you're successful, we can support you with:
- Help with the creation of CVs and job applications
- Training on how to speak to employers
- Training on supporting clients with interview practice and preparation
We'd always like to hear from people who want to help transform lives. Not sure if you have the skills and experience you need for the role? Apply and we'll let you know!
St Mungo's are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. We strongly encourage applications from all under-represented groups.
