Enablement Support Workers - EREWASH AREA

An exciting revamped short term service within our adult care department is being implemented in January 2024.  Derbyshire County Council are looking for Enablement Support Workers to come and join our new short-term reablement teams, to work within our local communities.

Supporting clients within their own home to regain full or partial independence will be the focus of our dedicated Enablement Support Workers.

You don’t need to have previous experience of care work or qualifications as we offer structured training to ensure our care workers receive what they need to flourish and progress in their social care careers!

What are we looking for?

Are you someone with a caring personality and a desire to care for others? Do you have the ambition and drive to work positively with people, promoting choice and control to encourage their independence in personal care, mobility, medication, making meals, whilst working to their goal focussed personal service plan? If the answer is “yes” then we are keen to hear from you.

What will you be doing?

Working in care can be challenging at times, but extremely rewarding, and you will be working as part of a multi-professional team to provide wrap around support to enable people to live as independently as possible in their own home.

You will be working towards a therapeutic goal focussed care plan that is aimed at promoting independence and you will have access to support through the new structure. You will work closely with other colleagues and have regular access to your Senior Enablement Support Worker for “on the job” queries and support and from your Enablement Support Lead for supervision, professional development and access to training.

A robust and attainable career pathway has been built into the new structure so there will be opportunities to work your way through the structure to more senior positions.

We’re keen to hear from you if you:

  • Enjoy a challenge
  • Understand what it means to treat people with dignity and respect
  • Can place a person at the centre of their care
  • Can be creative and are forward thinking
  • Have a driving licence and a vehicle that you are able to use for work

What we offer.

  • Competitive rates of pay
  • Generous local government pension
  • Genuine career development opportunity
  • Wellbeing support
  • PPE and workwear
  • Robust Training Programme
  • Shadowing team colleagues

All vacancies will offer one of three contracted hours 18, 24 or 30 on a rota basis and a 6 hour shift pattern. Therefore if you have an 18 hour contract you will be working 3 days a week, 24 hours will work 4 days a week and 30 hours will work 5 days a week. There are also opportunities to work extra hours when they are available. The job will require unsocial hours including weekends and Bank Holidays. You could also be required to work at night when the need arises and with agreement.  Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Apply now and take the first step towards a fulfilling career with us! By joining Derbyshire County Council you will have access to a range of amazing rewards and employee benefits, including our generous annual leave scheme, excellent local government pension and fantastic employee discounts.
