Job description

Our Client in Portishead is looking for a End User Support Team – Engineer to join their team to provide technical support and development of new IT services based in Microsoft telecommunications software solutions across all team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To work within a designated team and across virtual teams as necessary, with ability to advise and guide junior staff.
  • To provide a service that will include the administration, maintenance, development, installation, configuration and support of all devices, infrastructure and applications for the Client’s departments. The delivered services will operate to agreed performance standards, governance and ITIL practices.
  • To provide technical knowledge to a range of technical support and development services.
  • To technically support the organisation and support the IT services and products to meet the needs of the force.
  • To work and recommend on an agreed range of performance outcomes, to pro-actively recommend service improvement measures. To undertake developmental or remedial actions as directed in response to review or business feedback.
  • To deliver tasks within technical projects, assisting in the development and implementation of solutions, using a combination of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills, including consultation skills.
  • To support the strategy of the IT Directorate contributing to the overall strategy and vison of the organisation.

This will include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Service monitoring, pro-active prevention and associated maintenance.
  • Fault diagnosis and resolution.
  • Undertakes various technical activities and asset management
  • Liaison with third-party suppliers, agencies, departments and other parties
  • Provision of technical advice and guidance and testing
  • Understands and complies with use of all standard procedures and ITIL processes
  • Create documentation and deliver training packages

Candidate must have a valid UK driving license, as the position involves driving a company car between various sites.

Hours: full time Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Location: main office based in Portishead, works to be carrying out in various sites locally.

Duration: fixed term contract, 6 months

Rate of pay: up to £160 per day, depending on experience
