About the role:
Working in this role you will provide effective communications and professional advice, guidance and support to Managers, and local teams across the business. You'll ensure that the businesses energy and environment management system is continually improving through maintaining current processes, systems and databases and making system improvements where required.
Holding the core responsibility of ensuring the environment teams verification activities are undertaken in line with the SHEC verification plan, the role will also require you to plan and undertake audits as well as facilitate external assessments.
To make sure the business continues to deliver environment improvements and achieve KPIs, this role will deliver environmental improvement projects and carry out actions to address issues. In addition, this role will advise and work in collaboration with the rest of the Environment Team to analyse environmental data, consult with the business and propose actions and solutions to formulate Northern's SHEC Strategy and associated environmental delivery program.

- Demonstrable capacity and willingness to learn and try new things
- Able to work as part of team to deliver specific outcomes
- Experience of delivering environmental projects,
- An understanding of risk and identifying actions to address risk •
- Delivery of environmental audits
- A history of inspiring and engaging others to deliver environmental improvement
- Experience of building networks and establishing and sustaining professional working relationships
- Experience of giving presentations
- Experience of working with an Environmental and Energy Management System (ISO 14001 and ISO 50001) •
- Working knowledge of the key elements of a business and how they interrelate •
- An extensive knowledge of Microsoft word and Microsoft excel
- A good knowledge of environment and energy to a technical standard
- A good knowledge of environmental legislation
Qualifications:
- Environmental related degree/level 6 equivalent or IEMA Practitioner working towards Full Membership
- IEMA Internal Auditor
