Your new role
The client a leading provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management, is seeking an Energy & Sustainability Manager to join their team in London. This role focuses on delivering reporting, energy management, and sustainability services within the context of facility management contracts. It involves working with multiple clients, including landlords and tenants, including prestigious buildings in central London. The Energy & Sustainability Manager must possess strong technical knowledge of commercial building services.
The primary objectives of this role are as follows:

• Ensure effective management of energy resources to meet client objectives and targets.
• Identify, develop, and implement new energy-related opportunities while supporting operations and maintenance teams.
• Perform all energy and sustainability-related tasks to ensure service provision and compliance.
• Coordinate activities across the business unit, motivating and training individuals in energy management.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing clear energy performance strategies for various buildings and clients.
• Promoting energy efficiency and providing guidance and support for the development of energy-saving practices.
• Collaborating with operations teams to enhance the energy performance of buildings, especially through the application of advanced control systems.
• Conducting feasibility studies on costed initiatives and projects aimed at reducing energy consumption.
• Assisting project teams in managing the implementation of energy initiatives.
• Conducting energy surveys at client premises.
• Working with the Head of Projects to assess and account for the environmental and social impact of all projects.
• Collecting and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on utilities, waste, and carbon emissions, taking full ownership of data management platforms.
• Providing monitoring and verification throughout project cycles to achieve cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions.
• Maintaining a thorough understanding of corporate energy strategy, legal and statutory requirements, and technical issues affecting client premises.
• Staying up to date with energy market developments and changes, ensuring compliance with energy-related legislation.
• Supporting the development and implementation of net-zero carbon strategies at the asset level.
• Driving the broader sustainability agenda, which may include waste management, water management, sustainable procurement, and social value management, based on client needs and services provided.
• Ensuring compliance with environmental and well-being certification schemes.
• Operating in accordance with the client\'s energy and/or environmental management systems.
• Supporting the training and development of a team of Energy Engineers and overseeing their activities.
• Engaging with on-site delivery teams to promote the adoption of sustainable practices.

What you\'ll need to succeed

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy management or the application of Building Management Systems.
• Working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and control theory.
• Extensive knowledge of the techniques and technologies that support efficient energy use.
• Understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, and lighting operation principles, system design, and integration.
• Competency in current benchmark techniques and statistical analysis.
• Working knowledge of monitoring and targeting (M&T) software.
• Familiarity with customer operations, business drivers, financials, and specialized sources of information, including relevant legislative requirements.
• An energy-related qualification or equivalent in building services engineering (preferably at a degree level).
• Qualified as a Low Carbon Consultant.
• Chartered Energy Manager designation.
• Project management experience.
