Job description

Are you passionate about shaping global sustainability initiatives?
 
We are looking for the next Sustainability Leader, who will manage the Group Wide Sustainability & Impact function globally. As the Sustainability Manager you will be key in setting and implementing sustainability & impact strategy across a group of companies. The role will involve regular interaction with the Group Board, Group Board Sustainability Committee, Leading the Group Sustainability Task Force, Group Companies, operational sites, suppliers, and customers. Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills are key characteristics required for this role.
 
What you’ll be doing…
  • Manage Group Wide Sustainability & Impact function globally, including line managing a Sustainability Analyst.
  • Manage non-financial data gathering and reporting activities across the group (including scope 1, 2 & partial scope 3 emissions data as well as other key ESG metrics).
  • Lead quarterly sustainability working group meetings, action outputs from sustainability working group meetings and feed back to the board level sustainability committee.
  • Coordinate activities relating to voluntary sustainability programmes (EcoVadis, UNGC).
  • Plan strategy to meet upcoming EU sustainability regulations such as CSRD and CS3D.
  • Make decisions on energy procurement and act as energy advisor in the group.
  • Submission of annual carbon reports (under SECR as well as wider non-UK carbon reporting).
  • Lead change projects to introduce sustainable practices, infrastructure and equipment to group operations.
  • Manage activities of the sustainability department (e.g. Life-cycle assessments, questionnaires).
  • Aid in marketing and communication of sustainability activities Provision of training and advocacy on key Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)/ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) issues.
  • Represent the groups at external evets e.g.- industry group meetings, conferences and working groups.

Must have…
  • Sustainability experience.
  • Be educated to BSc or MSc level.
  • Strong communicator.
  • Ability to succinctly present information.
  • Able to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong logical reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to use MS office.
  • Full UK driving license.
Nice to have…
  • Ideally educated within an environmental/ sustainability/ energy management discipline.
  • Life and/or Material Science experience dealing with subjects relating to sustainability.
  • Knowledge of sustainability regulation in the UK and EU.
  • Knowledge of chemicals/ chemical distribution/ chemical manufacturing.
  • Further IT experience/ skillsets are desirable including Microsoft Dynamics.
