Position Overview:
In this role as a Multi-Skilled Engineer within the food production sector, you will be pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of machinery and equipment. The position involves a blend of mechanical, electrical, and automation tasks, offering an opportunity to utilise a diverse skill set across rotating day and back shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance activities across a spectrum of equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, to maintain peak performance and minimize downtime.
- Employ your expertise in mechanical and electrical systems to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, addressing root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to schedule to forestall breakdowns and prolong equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to grasp operational requirements and swiftly address equipment-related challenges.
- Engage in continuous improvement endeavours to elevate efficiency, quality, and safety within the facility.
- Maintain meticulous records of maintenance activities, documenting work performed, parts utilized, and equipment status.
Qualifications:
- Possession of relevant technical qualifications or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, showcasing proficiency in both mechanical and electrical systems.
- A solid grasp of automation systems, PLCs, and control systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals with ease.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and adeptness at performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Persuasive communication skills and the capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including days and back shifts, as necessary.
