Engineer Roads and Drainage

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team designing and delivering Lincolnshire's new highway drainage infrastructure and improvement schemes. With some highway and Drainage scheme delivery experience, you will join the performance-driven Technical Services Partnership, which combines private sector thinking with public sector ethos.

About the Role

As an enthusiastic and effective Engineer, you will be part of a team of engineers of varying levels of experience delivering a wide variety of highways or drainage projects to time and budget. 

Covering the entire county, the team is responsible for project delivery ranging from minor drainage / highway improvements to major flood alleviation schemes protecting people and property and city bypasses. You will be responsible for the detailed design of schemes and assist in the supervision of their construction.  Working within the political and business environment of the Council you will develop strong positive relationships with clients, colleagues and partners across all service areas. You will need to think creatively and work collaboratively, seeking opportunities to assist in improving service delivery in line with the Council’s objectives.

The role is based in Lancaster House in Lincoln, where your presence will be required for a minimum of two days per week and will reflect the needs of your team and the business. Some site attendance will also be required throughout the county.

About the Team

You will join the Highways or Drainage Delivery Team working alongside other specialist teams delivering highways functions from conception through to completion. About you

You will already have some knowledge, skill and experience in the design of highway drainage / highways infrastructure and be familiar with Design Standards. We're seeking someone who will not only fit seamlessly with the team but also display a commitment to continuous development and a dedication to working effectively for Lincolnshire.

Please note this role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area and therefore a valid driving licence and use of a car is required.
