Your Mission
The Applications Engineering team helps to acquire, activate, retain and expand the customer base here at Tray and get them to utilise the platform to its full potential by providing them with the most rewarding solutions for their needs, transforming them into high-value users.
You will work as part of a friendly, high-impact, cross-discipline agile team who help each other solve problems on both the server and client sides. As a team, we invest in ensuring quality by rigorous test automation and monitoring in order to deliver more often and confidently with our CI/CD deployment pipelines.
You will have the opportunity to work on both the Tray Platform (a large scale React application that our customers use to build and maintain their Tray workflows) and our Marketing and Documentation websites (React and Next.js applications powered by Contentful our CMS).
What you will do
- Work closely with other engineers, product, and business teams to deliver new and updated features that are high quality and loved by our customers.
- Work closely with our Product team to deliver a user experience that is accessible, consistent, and easy to use.
- Build prototypes and build iterative features from the ground up
- Lead technical and product discussions to ensure a safe but pragmatic engineering approach to customer problems
Recent projects our engineers have worked on, for example:
- Create the brand new Tray UI, which updates every aspect of our Tray Platform app to use a completely overhauled UI, with UX at the forefront
- Build the frontend for our in-house AI powered chatbot in our Documentation Platform
- Implement GraphQL Mesh to streamline our API requests and reduce bottlenecks in sourcing data
About You
- Strong Frontend Engineering skills with experience working on React, JavaScript/Typescript applications, and large-scale codebases
- Good knowledge and demonstrable experience with CI/CD pipelines (we use GitHub Actions)
- Experience with writing and owning test automation for the frontend (we use Jest, Playwright for E2E testing)
- Experience working with agile methodology and a good understanding of the benefits of doing so
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders (design, product, internal customers) to iterate toward ideas
