Specter is seeking a talented Frontend Engineer interested in what we are building. You'll join our Product team and work closely with our co-founders to create groundbreaking technology. This is an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the future of Specter. You'll significantly impact the product and engineering culture and be allowed to grow into a leader while considerably influencing other areas.
Technologies We Love
Our core tech stack uses Typescript, React, Supabase, react-query and Vercel. We're early stage, so this will evolve a lot, and you will have a vital role as an early team member in shaping our technical direction & choices.
What Will You Be Doing?
Having an impact on defining our frontend architecture
Help guide our overall dev strategy through design, prototyping, and market research
Report directly to our founding team
Taking ownership of products and going all the way from ideation to shipping features
We're early, so you'll have the opportunity to participate in decision-making on the technologies we use, and you'll be influential in defining our engineering culture from the ground up
What We Are Looking For
Experience creating frontend applications using React (NextJS or Remix experience is a plus)
An eye for design and passion for achieving stunning UI
Curiosity about new technologies/frameworks and passion for using the right tool for the right job
Excited by having loads of autonomy to move fast and build products end-to-end
Interest in helping shape the technical direction of the company, including vital architectural choices
If you need experience in some of the technologies or practices mentioned above, a willingness to learn!
Our Hiring Process
Initial chat to discuss the role, learn about each other and explore whether it's a good fit
Tech Challenge - a domain-specific exercise that doesn't require any preparation. No whiteboarding!
One-hour general technical interview [+ exercise review]
Final interview - a chance to have a general discussion, meet the rest of the team and make sure we're the perfect fit for each other. You'll have learnt more about us by this stage, and this is a chance to have any remaining questions answered!
