Are you ready to take on the challenge of managing day-to-day 3rd party suppliers' maintenance of engineering assets across the UK? As our Engineering Maintenance and Projects Manager, you will also be responsible for overseeing all engineering projects, from designing new systems to improving existing ones. Your role will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
The position works within a small engineering team, which requires flexibility in both attendance, early mornings, late nights and weekends for support with installation and maintenance in operational downtimes. Travel within the UK is necessary for this role, as it involves overseeing operations across the entire country.

Success Criteria:
Your focus will be on two key areas:
1. Leading and supporting projects that enhance equipment and process efficiencies.
2. Managing external engineering suppliers for equipment provision and maintenance, including conveyor systems, X-Ray machines, cameras, laser barcode readers, weighing systems, ULD handling, and telescopic booms.
Key Role Challenges:
• Delivering projects on time and within budget to avoid over-spending and revenue impact.
• Providing high-quality designs and selecting the right contractors for optimal operational throughput rates.
• Ensuring equipment availability while maintaining cost control.
• Establishing well-trained staff and effective maintenance systems to prevent breakdowns and service failures.
• Protecting DHL's position as an informed purchaser of engineering services by managing health and safety risks.
Responsibility:
You will lead projects up to £3M, support network development, and collaborate with key equipment suppliers. Additionally, you'll maintain compliance with relevant H&S requirements and ensure timely communication with stakeholders.
Skills/Experience & Educational Background:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
• Customer orientation and business acumen.
• Cross-border thinking and the ability to shape direction during periods of change.
• Strong leadership and partnership-building skills.
• Technical competence in automation, CAD design, and maintenance best practices.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• A degree in a technical discipline or relevant experience in Engineering Maintenance and project management.
