Job Description
Our client is one of an elite few Machine Tool Builders in the UK, who also design, manufacture and distribute a range of drill press and tapping Machines for the International market.
We currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Coordinator and Administrator for its Engineering division. Applicants must be professional, conscientious, and well organised, with exceptional attention to detail. You will be working as part of the engineering team dealing with a wide range of daily duties. Our client prides itself on its friendly atmosphere and as such is only looking for applicants who work well as part of a team yet can still work on their own initiative.
This is a full-time role working Monday to Thursday 7.30 am to 4.30 pm and Friday 7.30 am to 12.30 pm.
Role Specific Duties:
- Dealing with customer Requests for Quotation / liaising with customers in general.
- Drafting / Processing Quotations using information supplied by the Engineering Manager.
- Processing Customer Sales Orders from receipt of order to despatch of goods.
- Controlling and working with suppliers.
- Ordering raw materials and components.
- Building and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMS)
- Liaising with other departments and external companies.
- Creating Works Orders and assisting the Senior Engineer with production planning & scheduling.
- Monitoring costs and finding competitive supplier prices.
- Adhering to company ISO 9001/2015 and AS9100D quality processes and procedures.
- Maintaining Sage 200 and other electronic systems as required.
- Any other reasonable task as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Dealing with customers and suppliers, maintaining good relationships with both.
- A clear and concise communicator at all levels.
- Sales and Purchase Order processing within a manufacturing environment.
- BOM & inventory control within a manufacturing environment.
- Organised, methodical, and accurate, able to work to strict deadlines.
- Works well both within a team environment, and on their own initiative.
- Able to identify areas for improvement & development.
- High degree of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
Useful Skills and Experience:
- Use of Sage 200.
- The ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Understanding, knowledge of ISO and AS9100D quality management systems.
- Worked in a fast-paced engineering manufacturing environment.
