Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a large UK Defence client to recruit an experienced Senior Mechanical Process Engineer working on a 52-week contract for its Devonport site.
The Senior Mechanical Process Engineer role comes with a day rate of up to 70p/h. (DOE).
Key skills
- Hold a degree or equivalent in a Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Preferably Chartered Engineer status and member of relevant institute or significant demonstrable engineering experience and capable registration with the Engineering Council at CEng level.
- Be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in the technical management of complex design development throughout the design lifecycle.
- Have a Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements.
- Have project specification, planning, project management and budgeting experience.
- Experience of the design support to construction, operation, refit/repair of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities
- Knowledge of construction techniques employed for Nuclear Safety related process systems.
- Design and substantiation of Process Engineering solutions to relevant codes for satisfying Nuclear Safety Functions; particular experience in dock structures is preferred.

- Role is site based out of Devonport.
- Position is Inside IR35 and offers a rate of up to 70p/h.
- 52-week contract
