Engineering Project Engineer Guildford Upto £50k
Progressive Engineering and a Global Engineering Company are looking to recruit an Engineering Project Engineerfor their Engineering, Manufacturing & Assembly site near Guildford, owing to business growth & project pipeline for 2024-26+.
Based near Guildford and reporting into the Head of Projects, the Engineering Project Engineerwill be:
- Responsible for the development and delivery of technical requirements for project through the development & design phases of the project.
- Involved in the project from the planning phase, through construction and commissioning right the way through to handover of the project to the operations team
- Responsible for the technical & commercial development of a site including utility connections, cost estimation, constructability .
Responsibilities of Engineering Project Engineer
- Development of Utility connections plans including for future sites.
- Development of relationships with utility suppliers
- Assist the Head of Projects to co-ordinate design and development activities
- Work within the project teams to develop project feasibility and design documentation, including:
- Planning / layout drawings
- High level Construction Programmes / Approaches
- Safety, Health and Environmental assessments
- Progress Reports
- Support Project Managers in developing contract documentation
- Assist in the tracking of Project Expenditure / Forecast future expenditure
- Work with the construction Site Manager to ensure projects are built according to the specification/ Design
- Work with Commissioning Engineer to document the validation and commissioning process.
- Assist in the development of multi-discipline design documents
- Develop training and handover documentation packs
- Assist in the development of construction documentation (i.e. H&S files, preconstruction info etc)
Qualification & Experience Required for Engineering Project Engineer role:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Chemical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- Ideally holds and/or working towards IEng / CEng Status
- Prior Project or Process Engineering experience in areas such as Chemical Process Equipment / Plant Packages / Structural Steelwork, Water, Oil & Gas, Utilities, Energy, Manufacturing etc
- Prior project experience within an Engineering / Manufacturing environment (ideally within machining / welding / fabrication / piping manufacturing)
- Prior Mechanical / Process / Chemical Engineering Design experience, using 2D & 3D CAD (AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks etc) for PFD's / P&ID design etc
- Ability to carry out Engineering Calculations (including Flow-Rate, Pressure, Sizing etc)
- Strong commercial capability & prior experience in customer technical requirements capture & project delivery (ideally control / report of budgets, risk management etc)
- CDM knowledge would be beneficial
- Good knowledge of full project lifecycle (from RFQ & customer requirements capture through to delivery)
- Excellent Customer Facing & Service skills, including both written and verbal communication
- A 'can do' attitude and positive approach to challenges
- Team player
- Able to work well under pressure and to be flexible where required
- Proactiveness
For the successfulEngineering Project Engineer, a salary Up to £50,000 and package and thisEngineering Project Engineerrole is commutable from Guildford, Farnborough, Woking, Witley, Horsham, Redhill, Bagshot, Cranleigh, Godalming, Leatherhead, Chertsey, Reigate, Farnham & Hook (and this client does offer both hybrid working).
Please Note - This Project Development Engineer Role will require the Project Development Engineer to travel for Site Visits & Commissioning Activities, so some UK Travel is required.
