We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Technician - Mechanical to join the theatre team at a prestigious private healthcare provider in the Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire area

The main duties of the Engineering Technician - Mechanical role include:

• Ensure timely completion of all work orders including planned maintenance, Reactive response, Specialist sub-contract work orders, and remedial work orders.
• Offer Routine and Specialized Engineering Maintenance and support for breakdowns at a designated hospital site.
• Provide proficient Technical, Health, Safety, and Environmental assistance as needed, while embodying company policies and procedures.
• Deliver training, guidance, and practical aid to additional Site-based Technicians or Engineering Assistants.

Offer Engineering guidance and counsel to Local Hospital managers when necessary.

• Exhibit a proactive culture founded on exemplary engineering standards within an environment of transparency and integrity.
• Contribute to fostering a robust team spirit and its development.
• Work at multiple company sites within the cluster to cover engineering absence or supplement labour, attend meetings, or offer specialized advice or services to the site—e.g., AP duties, Mechanical, Electrical, or Air Con duties—to ensure sustained effective operational coverage

What we are looking for in a successful candidate:

• Possession of a valid Construction Safety Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card, relevant to the required qualification level. For those with electrical qualifications, a current Electro-technical Certification Scheme (ECS) Card is necessary. (Candidates lacking the appropriate card will not be considered).
• City & Guilds Part 3, ONC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, is a fundamental requirement.
• Essential willingness to serve as AP and RP Medgas when needed.
• Completion of a time-served apprenticeship in a Mechanical or Electrical specialized field is essential.
• Thorough grasp of Health & Safety guidelines, statutory regulations, and ACOPs.
• Familiarity with L8 Legionella ACOP within hospital premises.
• Demonstrated proficiency in organizational and time management skills, particularly in environments with numerous and sometimes conflicting priorities.
• Strong fault-finding abilities and adeptness in interpreting drawings.
• Proficiency in using a PC, inclusive of software and systems
