We are seeking an English Cover Teacher for KS2 and KS3, with a preference for candidates who have experience in 11+ preparation. This Maternity Cover role also includes teaching Drama and possibly PSHE, primarily to Year 4, 5, and 6 students. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher looking to make a significant impact in a short period.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Delivering English lessons to KS2 and KS3 students, ensuring that each student reaches their full potential.
- Preparing students for 11+ examinations through effective teaching strategies and comprehensive lesson plans
- Incorporating Drama and PSHE teaching into the curriculum where required.
- Assessing and recording students’ progress and providing feedback to help them improve.
- Adapting teaching methods to suit different learning styles within the classroom.
- Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning.
- Collaborating with other staff members to plan and coordinate lessons.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching English at KS2 and KS3 levels.
- Experience in preparing students for 11+ examinations is highly desirable.
- Ability to teach Drama and PSHE is advantageous.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
