Busy Bee Recruitment are currently working with a leading national Care and Education company who specialise in providing residential living facilities alongside SEN schooling for young people with learning difficulties and complex health needs.
An exciting opportunity has come available for a experienced and enthusiastic English Teacher Assistant to join our clients SEN School based in Cranborne which supports young people aged 11-16 with social and emotional difficulties, anxiety disorders and other mental health needs.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Maintain and use short-, medium- and long-term plans in delivering the curriculum.
- Set, monitor and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual.
- Contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews.
- Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge.
- Assist in the development of the curriculum offer. To maintain an overall awareness of current issues in the field of autism in order to be able to plan for effective teaching and learning.
- Manage a delegated budget as required.
What we are looking for:
- Essential: PGCE, QTS, QTLS teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
- To be able to teach from Entry level 2 & 3, Functional Skills Level 1 & 2 and GCSEs in English and 1 other subject to GCSE Level.
- Experience of working in a school environment, ideally in specialist education.
- Good teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Effective skills in planning, preparation, recording and reviewing students’ progress.
- Good IT skills and understand of how IT can be used to support learning.
- Ability to remain calm and reflective when working in a challenging environment.
- Ability to engage students in positive enabling relationships
