A teacher is required from 26th February for 5 weeks, to teach English at a good independent school in Derby.
The school are looking to appoint a creative, enthusiastic and inspiring teacher of English with a forward thinking approach. The post is full time.
The English department is a friendly, supportive and hard-working team. The successful candidate will be required to deliver an inspiring and engaging curriculum from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. At GCSE the Edexcel specification is followed and at A Level we follow the OCR English Language and Literature specification.
In Key Stage 3 we encourage students to develop their love of reading; we are keen for students to experience a wide range of text types and begin to develop as critical readers. We foster reading for pleasure, creativity and independence of thought. We encourage students to evaluate their own writing.
Students achieve highly at both GCSE and A Level. We are looking for a person with excellent subject knowledge who has the confidence and skill to support, stretch and inspire students.
The department would welcome someone wishing to offer extracurricular creative writing or support school productions.

Applicants for this position of English teacher will initially be screened over the telephone to assess suitability and then be invited for an interview with the agency prior to the interview with the school.
They will need the right to work in the UK and to be prepared to undergo compliance checks to ensure they are suitable to work with children. This includes having an DBS certificate on the update service and providing two referees.
