You will act as a catalyst for change to make Milton Keynes a more connected and inclusive place for people who have a learning disability and/or autism. You will find innovative ways to help people enrich their own lives and contribute in their neighbourhood, connecting people and creating vibrant communities.
Milton Keynes and the surrounding area is a focus for future development and growth. Here, we deliver children services, further education, lifelong learning and adult residential care.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing the Lifelong Learning services and coffee shop. You’ll provide the vision and direction to create and deliver transformational learning and community programmes across the Milton Keynes area. You’ll set up and manage new community enterprise initiatives. You’ll look at how a strong volunteer and work experience programme can be developed, both for local community members and for the people supported
You must be a strong project manager and a qualification in education is an advantage but not essential. You must be able to work well with all sorts of people with confidence and be able to make connections instinctively – and join up dots that are not always obvious. You should be able to spot what people are good at and nurture it and capture and share learning and outcomes in imaginative interesting ways. You should have experience in Enterprise and community projects.
This is a full-time role, 35 hours a week
You’ll be travelling for meetings and around the area so will need a driving licence and your own transport.
To manage your project effectively, you’ll work roughly office hours Monday to Friday but there will be a need to work evenings or at the weekend sometimes.
