Role Description
The Data Quality and Data Methods department is made up of three teams – Data Quality, Data Methods and Production Validation. Collectively they are focusing on data quality, alongside optimisation of our data methodologies. The Production Validation team are responsible for the validation and maintenance of our data integrity – for various data classification methods that are in place to assign attribution. The team has a key focus on delivering efficient and targeted data quality validation and improvements through expert data reviews and process driven data management and enrichment!
Job Purpose
To code and validate attributes accurately to ensure maximum coverage of the marketplace using a range of input sources. You will actively respond to needs of the business through strong knowledge of the market and systems capabilities and work flexibly to meet business needs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Attribution and Market Knowledge
  • Identify products and assign the associated attributions across a range of industries for defined attributes
  • Review, validation and amendment of dictionary-level linking and validation of Machine Learning outcomes
  • Develop strong relationships across our teams to provide support and insight
  • Liaising with other Operations teams to maintain specific client rules and to ensure all products are coded on to the system correctly to their standards
  • Answering queries related to coding rules/coding databases/new products or general product knowledge
  • Hitting set targets, deadlines, and meeting goals within the team
  • Carrying out key checks to ensure the quality of data is accurate and fit for purpose
Team, People & Self Development
  • Actively participate in training programs to develop the required skills and seeks opportunities to practice and apply what you have learned in training
  • Take part in your own performance and development through active participation in the Kantar Worldpanel appraisal process
  • Engage with your line manager – seeking their feedback, input and contribution to your development – act upon it appropriately and ask for advice when relevant
  • Build relationships internally, specifically within the immediate team with a view to willingly offer help and support to others in the team where possible
  • Develop personal impact, and build your reputation as a member of the team who has the confidence to work independently when required, but who is also an active, flexible, confident, and trusted team member
Measures of Success
  • Deliver high quality, accurate and efficient output, taking personal responsibility for delivering against goals defined by manager for both self and team
  • Successfully builds relationships internally with the immediate team, making a positive contribution and supporting others
  • Displays a complete set of skills and capabilities with a willingness and ability to flex according to workload priorities
  • Maintain and improve personal performance based on continued training and feedback provided by the Team Manager
Required skills
  • Having a good understanding of major retail brands, supermarkets and promotional offers
  • Good attention to detail and drive to achieve high quality of work
  • Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
  • Embraces learning new systems and systems capabilities to deliver role requirements
  • Ability to work using own initiative as well as through a team lens
  • A passion for working with data and apps

  • Proficient in MS Office products (particularly in MS Excel)
