Environmental Advisor

We're looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our Transportation team based in Brixworth. This is for our two prestigious Northamptonshire contracts, North Northamptonshire Council and West Northamptonshire Council. Contract: Permanent, Full time

What will you be responsible for?

As an Environmental Advisor, you'll be working within the Environmental team, supporting them in the implementation of the ‘Driving for Sustainability' strategy in the local transportation contracts.

Your day to day will include:

• Facilitating the delivery of the key environmental and sustainability commitments and strategic maturity requirements, there is a strong emphasis on ecological and biodiversity improvements, along with a focus to improve the natural environment in the county
• Supporting the ongoing maintenance of our ISO14001:2015 environmental management system
• Aiding the design, construction and maintenance teams with ecological advice, conducting surveys where required
• Site inspections and audits to ensure ongoing legal and other compliance obligations are met. Completing environmental assessments of schemes to manage environmental/ecological risks
• Representing environment and sustainability at the innovations and improvement group meeting, providing updates on current innovations and suggesting areas for improvement, working with Operations teams to develop case studies where new materials/equipment are being trialled and feedback to management.

• Demonstrate relevant experience working as an Environmental Advisor
