Environmental Health Team Assistant

37 hrs per week – Fixed term until end of March 2025
Following the post holder being seconded to another role, an opportunity has arisen to join our Environmental Health team as a Team Assistant. The post holder will be the first point of contact for new and existing Environmental Health enquiries and cases. This includes a broad and interesting remit including health and safety, food safety, public health, statutory nuisance complaints, enviro-crime, mobile homes and housing issues.
Reporting to the Environmental Health Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for answering the telephone, responding to customer enquiries, liaising with our partner organisations, minute-taking, updating databases, generating statistical reports and assisting officers with investigations and project work.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who will help organise our busy office and support a team of officers. It is essential that you have a good understanding of Microsoft Office applications as well as the ability to use bespoke databases following training. You will have strong communication and excellent organisational skills, with previous experience of working in a customer focussed environment.
