Possess a strong understanding of Net Zero principles showcasing previous experience in carbon measurement and action to drive reduction and efficiency.
Exhibit a thorough understanding of practical environmental risk mitigation on construction projects, including waste management, water management and pollution prevention, statutory nuisance, contaminated land, ecological mitigation, consents, licencing and biodiversity net gain.
Have an analytical mind to review and interpret data insights, adjusting strategy to make continuous improvements.
Proactively seek innovative solutions to enhance environmental performance and sustainability initiatives within the construction sector.
Exhibit strong project management skills to oversee and coordinate various environmental initiatives, campaigns, and improvement plans effectively.
Technical Specification
Experience Required
Proven experience in environmental and sustainability management for businesses preferably in the construction industry.
Essential Qualifications
Hold a degree in an appropriate environmental or sustainability discipline.
Chartered IMEA or working towards it
Must hold a current UK Driving License

Role Purpose
The Environmental Sustainability Manager will be responsible for driving and overseeing all aspects of Environmental Sustainability initiatives within Browne This role involves developing and executing strategies to minimise our ecological footprint, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance the overall environmental performance of our construction projects.
Role Summary
Develop and implement strategies to enhance our environmental performance.
Establish robust management controls to ensure all personnel are aware about their statutory duties, responsibilities, and provide guidance as needed.
Take a leadership role with site management teams to guarantee compliance with environmental and sustainability plan requirements.
Lead, participate in, and oversee environmental incident investigations, analysing data and making recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Manage, collate & review key environmental and sustainability statistics to identify trends and areas requiring improvement.
Create and implement environmental and sustainability campaigns and improvement plans.
Oversee the development and implementation of environmental and sustainability plans, procedures and associated documentation, ensuring compliance.
Identify significant environmental and sustainability issues and help set-up contracts to include appropriate controls.
Manage and identify any environmental and sustainability consents, permits or exemptions that are required and ensure they are obtained.
Provide reports, presentations, and information as required.
Conduct internal and external audits as necessary.
Contribute to and review pre-qualification, tender and environmental and sustainability award submissions.
Develop and deliver training programmes to educate employees on Environmental Sustainability practices and the importance of their role in achieving companywide goals.
