Closing Date - Applications close 28th June at 5pm. A bank with a little more heart We’re looking for an Environments Manager to join our Environments team at Tesco Bank. This role will be key in delivering change through the functional test environments. In addition to supporting the delivery teams through their Route to Live, we constantly strive to improve our own services and processes. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of teams and technologies, including AWS platform and automation of key systems. This role will span our day-to-day activities but also contribute to our own project objectives. The Environments team are an essential contributor to testing phases of all releases. The role requires a wide range of skills, both technical and non-technical, and our workload varies greatly in supporting other teams. The Environments team is part of the RET (Release Management, Environment Management and Tooling) team, part of the Platforms team. Our direct customers are the delivery team, primarily from the many Agile Release Trains that deliver change to Production. We are a small, cross-skilled group with a focus on support. Our work gives us exposure to multiple systems, processes, and technologies, with the opportunity to develop skills in a number of areas. We work in an Agile environment and manage our own workload using Kanban; we also need to be able to deal with Waterfall-driven deliveries. Tesco Bank Technology’s application stacks are based on a combination of Datacentre and Cloud (AWS) locations, and a degree of knowledge in these areas is beneficial but can be learned. Our own systems are based on ServiceNow, OneNote, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint, monitoring through Splunk/Datadog, and automation using Jenkins/Cloudbees and GitHub. What you’ll be doing · Management of the Environments schedule, including identification of any potential conflicts between teams and enabling resolution. · Reviewing and controlling the deployment of changes into the environments. · Liaising with delivery teams (Value Stream/Platform/BAU) to agree the best route to delivering our services. · Driving automation of process and data gathering. · Taking ownership of environment defects and managing them to resolution. · Constantly finding new ways to improve the service we provide to our stakeholders. We need you to have · Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. · Experience of working in Agile environments. · Experience of AWS tools and technologies (ideally to accreditation). · Experience of working in integrated IT environments.
