RLE International is working on behalf of their Essex based Automotive Client, who are currently looking for a EPD DV Engineer to support and join their expanding team. Position Description: Rate: ££NEGOTIABLE (via Umbrella) The EPD mechanical development engineer will lead dynamometer testing activities that are required to complete DCV sign off for EU6e and EU7 Fox Upgrade 350bar. Provide evidence of signoff prior to Unit DC and Unit FDJ. You will manage the test rooms, liaising with Vehicle Evaluation & Verification (VEV), Build & Test (B&T) and Vehicle Propulsion Systems Engineering (VPSE) to ensure testing is completed correctly and in time for program gateways. Complete Mechanical signoff of new Fox Engine hardware including documentation of test methods, results and analysis. Support warranty and OPD investigations for existing Fox applications. Raise ELMS test requests. Oversee engine instrumentation and installations to ensure standardisation is applied. Develop and provide calibrations for the dynamometer test rooms. Provide test bands for Durability tests and approve engine is running correctly prior to test. Work with components engineers and refer to relevant CETPs to design appropriate test programs for each mechanical sign off. Issue daily test instructions (DTIs) to the mechanical development test rooms. Analyse test data to monitor engine health throughout test and that sign off is completed correctly. Write test reports providing the evidence and results of each mechanical development test. Skills Required: * AVL software packages including Concerto. * Working knowledge of ATI or similar calibration software * Engine, calibration and test rig fault identification and problem solving. * Project management Skills Preferred: Strong communication skills in person and using formal reports. Experience Required: Strong experience with dynamometer engine testing Experience Preferred: Calibration experience of gasoline GTDI engines Knowledge of Vehicle Evaluation & Verification facilities and processes Education Preferred: Mechanical Engineering Degree Additional Information: ** INSIDE IR35** Hybrid working - 2 days onsite per week minimum.
