Orbia’s Fluor and Energy Materials business is hiring an EPS Plant Controller to be based at Rocksavage, Runcorn.

 

Purpose:

Responsible for the day-to-day safety, operating and environmental performance of EPS (HF Storage and CEP) and associated logistics operations (planning, receipting, and offloading) and sampling (in plant streams). Working under the supervision and direction of the Supporting Operating Plant Manager, they will ensure the area is optimized and maintenance activities are carried out to meet site / CTF requirements. Covering the role as one of 6 shifts, working continuous shifts, on the following pattern, 2 x 12-hours days followed by 2 x 12-hour nights and 8 days off.

This role will be on days initially as it’s a succession role but will move to shift as soon as the business requirements demand this.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Control and operation of CEP & HF Storage / Offloading to meet business requirements and demand on site.
  • Continuously improve assets performance and ensure that the plant is operated and maintained to the optimum so that it is a reliable and cost effective for the Site and CTF manufacturing unit
  • Maintain and coordinate inventory levels of key raw materials (aHF and Quicklime) including dealing with external logistics.
  • Taking of in process samples.
  • Preparation for maintenance activities including isolation and decontamination of the plant.
  • Safe and reliable operation of the assets to meet Sales and Operating Plan requirements ensuring environmental limits are not exceeded.
  • Perform routine housekeeping checks and improvements and raise notifications for any issues or breakdowns.
  • Maintain competency through compliance with training programs
  • Oversee permitry, general Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work for the EPS Plants and associated areas (switch rooms, buildings etc.)
  • Support the SOPM to coordinate planned task events and shutdowns.
  • Supporting CI projects locally and across site.

 

 

Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum Level 3 Science Manufacturing Process Operative Standard (SMP) or equivalent.
  • At least 2 - 3 years’ experience in the chemicals or process industry in an operating team role ideally having worked a continuous shift pattern.
  • Ideally 1 - 3 years’ experience in the chemicals or process industry on a high hazard / Top Tier COMAH plant/site.
  • Previous experience and/or knowledge of preparing plant for maintenance including the preparation and implementation of SSOW (Safe Systems of Work e.g. Permit to Work, COTIS etc.).
  • Process safety experience would be desirable.
  • Experience of working with multi-discipline teams (E/I, Mechanical, Riggers, Scaffolders, Laggers, Painters).
  • Lean/6σ and Continuous Improvement experience would be desirable.
  • Control of Continuous Operations using DCS, PLC and Safety Protection Systems (Safety Instrumented Systems – Trips, Interlocks, Overrides and associated procedures)
  • Clean driving license.
  • Ideally experience driving FLT.
