About the Role
Join us as an Apprentice at Morgan Stanley and work alongside industry experts gaining valuable on the job training, whilst working towards your qualification. Our Apprenticeship is all about giving you the foundations to kick start your career in a supportive environment, where you can make valuable contributions from the outset and develop both personally & professionally! This role sits within the Equity Research Division. Our research teams produce market leading in-depth analysis of companies, industries, markets, and world economies. You will be at the very heart of the action, learning from our research sector analysts to gain extensive knowledge of their sector space. It is imperative that you have interest in the financial markets. You will be spending each day deep in analysis of the stocks that your team cover, observing emerging trends and gathering data to help your analysts form a view. The role will be fast paced, intellectually challenging and will require a curious and driven apprentice who is passionate to succeed and rise to the challenge.
A typical day
- Gather and analyse industry data to develop an industry vision
- Learn to update and with time, build financial models on multiple companies and industries.
- Analyse emerging trends in an industry
- Review your research findings with senior analysts on your team
- Learn to verbally communicate your team's investment opinions
- Join departmental meetings to understand how the market conditions are affecting your teams’ stocks/ companies
You must have
- GCSE English 4-9 (C-A*) or equivalent
- B or 5 at GCSE Maths or equivalent
- Three A levels at grades A*-C (or 240 UCAS points or new tariff equivalent). Ideally one STEM related subject.
Skills Needed
- Ability/desire to develop knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including exceptional Excel skills
- Interested in financial markets
