Your key responsibilities

The person in this role in London will be reporting to the Global ESG Compliance Counsel in London for MSCI's ESG business.Responsibilities center around compliance of MSCI's ESG business with the contemplated regulations of ESG ratings providers worldwide. Other compliance areas covered will include general corporate compliance.The role will involve dealing with:

Analysis and implementation of major regulatory initiatives

Policies and procedures drafting and implementation

Regulatory rule mapping and change management

Registration application processes

Regulatory exams, inquiries, and enforcement actions

Regulatory Compliance Counseling

Training, education and awareness

Monitoring, testing and approvals

Internal investigations

Annual and quarterly compliance reporting

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

Lawyer with a minimum of five years of compliance experience at a top financial services institution or law firm.

Extensive knowledge of regulatory framework for the financial industry

Strong drafting and written and oral communication skills.

Experience writing and implementing policies and procedures aligned to regulation

Ability to analyze legal and business risks to help develop business-oriented, compliant solutions

Desire to learn new regulatory frameworks and interest in regulatory change

Experience with regulatory exams and enforcement actions

Comfortable interacting with regulators

Ability to work effectively across functions, borders and regions and building relationships and trust with colleagues

Positive, execution-oriented outlook, willingness to pitch in as needed

Organized self-starter who meets deadlines and acts independently in a fast-paced environment

Very comfortable using technology, online systems, and databases

Interested in innovation
