ESG Financial Reporting Analyst

The Opportunity

QBE International are recruiting for an ESG Financial Reporting Analyst to join a well-establish Financial Reporting team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our Financial Reporting practices to incorporate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations. You will support the ESG reporting agenda, assisting in the development and implementation of risk measures and ESG disclosures, helping the business meet its statutory and regulatory sustainability reporting obligations.

Your new role

ESG Data Collection and Analysis

  • Collaborate with various departments to gather, validate, analyse and monitor ESG-related financial data and KPIs, working closely with data providers to ensure accuracy and completeness of ESG metrics for Financial Reporting purposes.

Financial Reporting Enhancement

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial reports to include ESG disclosures, (aligning with global reporting frameworks including TCFD/CFD, CSRD, TPT and ISSB), and ensure compliance with evolving ESG reporting regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Assist in the preparation of ESG-related financial reports for internal and external stakeholders and support the ESG Reporting Senior Manager to anticipate, identify and manage current and future risks, providing updates to internal stakeholders.

Integration of ESG in Annual Reports:

  • Collaborate with the Financial Reporting team to integrate ESG considerations in the annual reports, providing a comprehensive view of performance, enabling the team to deliver a strong ESG process and meet audit and assurance standards.

Benchmarking and Best Practices

  • Stay informed about industry best practices and benchmarks related to ESG Financial Reporting and conduct independent research for ESG regulatory horizon scanning that enhances our understanding and appropriate implementation of emerging market standards and practices.

Project Management/Coordination:

  • Support the successful delivery of periodic ESG reporting, including day-to-day project management and implementation activity (contributing to discovery, impact analysis and solution design), as new regulations are adopted in relevant jurisdictions.

About you

  • A bachelor's degree in finance related field (Finance, Accounting or Sustainability)

  • A self-starter with a passion for ESG and a desire to support the development of themselves, colleagues, and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of Financial Reporting principles and some experience with ESG reporting frameworks is advantageous.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, and a critical thinker and problem solver with an ability to learn rapidly, synthesize technical information and demonstrate good attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with sustainability metrics and reporting frameworks (including, TCFD/CFD, CSRD, TPT and ISSB).

  • A highly organised individual, with great attention to detail, commitment to data accuracy and effective time-management skills.
