Your role
Woodbridge Town Council are seeking an organised and community aware person to provide a maintenance service across the Council’s wide and varied estate.
Under the direction of the Town Clerk you will become a recognisable and approachable member of the Council’s staff and build relationships with the Council’s tenants and partner organisations.
You will facilitate projects approved by the Council, inspect, and recommend improvements to the Council’s estate, and manage the booking and use of publicly available facilities.
Your responsibilities
The post requires internal and external work and demands efficient and effective working practices to achieve value-for-money and best practice standards.
You will be able to provide both a professional office based administrative support to the Council, as well as be prepared to work externally on the Council’s estate.

The Town Council was created in 1974 as the successor to the Urban District Council and is based in the Shire Hall, Market Hill.
It is the 3rd tier of Local Government after Suffolk County Council and East Suffolk Council and deals only with the Town of Woodbridge.
The Council has a wide and varied estate covering, but not limited to, formal parks, playing fields, Grade 1 listed buildings, modern waterfront developments, roadway, quayside and a War Memorial. This is a key post in achieving the Council’s ambitions to provide safe to use, fit-for-purpose and clean facilities.

- Tide Mill Quay
- Quaker Burial Ground
- The Shire Hall and Market Square
- The Tide Mill (as Custodian Trustee)
- The Community Hall
- The New Museum, Art Group, and Community Boatshed Buildings
- Allotments and the Thursday Market.
The Council has a team of five employees working to support the above – the new role of Estates Officers will further enhance the Council’s offering to the people of Woodbridge.
What we will offer you
The position will offer between fifteen to twenty hours work per week and is based on a maximum full-time equivalent salary of £26,357. Minor seasonal fluctuations in hours should be expected.
Entry into the Local Government Pension Scheme, pro-rata holidays plus bank holidays.
