Reporting to the Head of Ethics, Sustainability & Compliance, you will be responsible for developing and leading the Ethics and Sustainability strategy across the business.
- To increase Ethics & Sustainability performance of The White Company
- To increase Ethics & Sustainability awareness among staff, customers and stakeholders.
- To be the subject matter expert for worker rights and sustainable materials for The White Company.
What you'll be doing
- To develop and lead an effective Ethics & Sustainability programme
- To develop a medium to long-term strategy, including goals and targets. Embedding a culture of Ethics & Sustainability across the business.
- Manage and develop sustainable materials certification database and enhance sustainability performance.
- Develop and manage annual reporting including, ETI, Modern Slavery Statement and RWS
- Lead the modern slavery strategy including working with NGOs, suppliers and teams to drive effective due diligence.
- Establish an Ethics & Sustainability steering group in the business.
- Regularly engage the board, executives and senior leaders on programme and progress
- Participate in strategic projects with suppliers or clients that test or pilot new ways of working that go beyond audit.
- Develop and deliver training, facilitation and other learning and development techniques e.g. supplier/buyer training.
- Manage the social audit database e.g. SEDEX, auditing and CAP programme.
- Support supplier set up process and annual supplier scoring programme.
- Participate in relevant external corporate responsibility groups and networks.
- Ensure all risks are flagged through appropriate channels.
- Develop core stakeholder relationships, working collaboratively with relevant teams across the business to engage them on Ethics & Sustainability issues, to develop their skills and knowledge.
- To manage budgets allocated to the team for Ethics & Sustainability initiatives, with the support of your line manager.
- Policy development and implementation.
- To contribute and support the communication function.
- International travel required.
