Job description

Events Coordinator (Maternity cover, 6-12months).

Location: Dorking (Rural, own transport would be beneficial)

Salary: £30000pa

Full time – Fixed term contract working 5 days out of 7. This will include occasional weekends and events as per the needs of the business.

Job Purpose:

As Events Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting the events team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the C&B department. You will also be responsible for providing a high level of customer service at all times as well as administrative tasks.

  • Take enquiries and bookings for C&B events and special occasion events via telephone and email
  • Prepare, update and file all relevant information
  • Complete function sheets with completed final and accurate details for both the clients and the operations team
  • Follow up on all enquiries to secure new business and provide an after-sales service for future repeat business
  • Customer service, ensuring the client is kept fully up to date through out the lead up and on the day of the event
  • Compile monthly conversion and function room usage statistics
  • Attend weekly function meetings and take minutes
  • To carry out in person tours of site, rooms and other onsite facilities available
  • Up-selling
  • To assist with sending out contracts and raising invoices
  • Overseeing working lunches and large banqueting events (knowledge and experience within food services would be an advantage)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience within a similar role
  • A positive can-do attitude
  • A team player who is able to motive others
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • NVQ (or working towards an NVQ) in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership or a similar, relevant qualification – desirable
