Please note this is a full-time position offered on a Maternity Cover contract – candidate must be available to work occasional evening and weekends.
The castle is a stunning, 900-year-old moated castle, situated in the beautiful Kent countryside. The Castle has been open to the public through a Foundation since 1974 and continues her story as a glamorous retreat and popular visitor attraction.
Their event programme is an integral part of the visitor experience, driving visitors amongst target audience, as well as delivering their stories and brand. Reporting to the Head of Brand, Marketing & Fundraising you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of a diverse range of events that drives business results. The Events Manager will plan, prepare and deliver large special ticketed events such as the Fireworks Spectacular for an audience up to 10,000, whilst also managing a year-round programme of value-added activities and events designed to increase the number of new ticket sales year on year. In addition to this the Events Manager will be responsible for organising an annual lineup of diverse events and daily activities within budget, overseeing everything from initial concept to post-event. Some of these events include the post-holder ensuring events align with brand standards and coordinate with performers, contractors and manage the paperwork. Furthermore, the Events Manager will collaborate with internal teams to ensure there is sufficient logistical support for safe events set up. Additionally, you will recruit and train event staff and update internal departments on the events progress.
To be considered for this role you will be an experienced Event Manager with a record of accomplishment of managing events in large visitor attractions, possessing strong creativity and organisational skills. The right candidate will be a skilled problem-solver and will possess confident communication and influential skills, along with experience in managing teams. The right candidate will be approachable, proactive, and maintain a can-do attitude at all times.
