Job Title Events Programming Manager (Maternity Cover)
Hours of Work 28 hours per week, Monday - Thursday (weekend & evening work as required with time off in lieu)
Main purpose of the job
- Lead on the design and delivery of a public events and activity programme that is on mission, encapsulates organisational values and meets corporate objectives
- Manage the commercial events delivery including venue hire, filming and photography.
Management and operations
- Propose and manage the Events Programme to deliver against annual corporate targets
- Manage the Events Programme budget
- Manage direct line reports, casual staff and the events booking system
- Implement effective procedures for programme design, operational delivery and effective evaluation and reporting, using the input of colleagues across a range of departments
- Be responsible for the smooth running of events through the development of detailed event management plans
- Manage contracts with suppliers
- Ensure that the programme is as environmentally sustainable as possible
Public programme
- Ensure that the Events Programme responds creatively to collections, exhibitions and themes, blends digital and on-site experiences, and prioritises audience diversification and income generation
- Coordinate a cross-organisational events programming group, implementing clear and effective procedures and processes for ideas generation, communications and decision making
- Advise and support learning, digital, exhibitions and curatorial colleagues on their programme delivery as appropriate
- Work with commercial and marketing colleagues on pricing strategies
Commercial events and bookings
- Report into the Head of Commercial for commercial events activity
- Manage all venue hire and filming/photography enquiries
- Advise clients on the venue's operational and logistical policies
- Manage suppliers
- Ensure compliance with venue policies
- Collate and reviewing client event documentation
