Do you want to use your high accuracy and interpersonal skills to provide Executive, Board and Organisational support? Join our team as an Executive Assistant and help us support a multi-award winning, international non-profit organisation that empowers girls to become influential leaders and changemakers in their communities!

Job title: Executive Assistant

Report to: Executive Director, Global Hub

Hours: Permanent, Full-time - 37.5hrs per week

Salary range: £35,00-£42,000 pa

Location: Cambridge (flexibility for hybrid working in the UK)

CAMFED’s model promotes a virtuous cycle of empowerment by supporting girls and young women through every stage of their development. Over the next six years, CAMFED will ensure that 5 million marginalised girls have the support they need to succeed in secondary school and improve their life outcomes.


Principal Accountability

The Executive Assistant provides executive support to the Executive Director, Global Hub (ED), and, through the ED, to other members of the Executive. The Executive Assistant also supports liaison with the CAMFED International Board and the general smooth running of the organisation.

Specific Accountabilities:


Executive support

  • Provide administrative support to the ED.
  • Support the ED, Global Hub in maintaining systems and processes for effective coordination of and knowledge management across global technical functions and offices.
  • Coordinate preparation and organisation of materials and logistics for key meetings.
  • Manage requests for ED, Global Hub, approval and signature.
  • Manage and book travel arrangements for members of the Executive and Board.
  • Provide administrative support to other members of the Executive as required, including the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Advisor - Global engagement, and the CAMFED International Board Chair.


Board liaison and support

  • Manage, schedule and coordinate all meetings (virtual and in-person, including international) of the CAMFED International Board and executive, and its component subcommittees.
  • In liaison with the Executive, compile and circulate Board document packs ahead of meetings, and coordinate follow-up after meetings.
  • Support and coordinate processes for recruitment, on-/off-boarding and performance management of Board members, including liaison with external search agencies where appropriate.
  • Oversee compliance and legal requirements associated with Board members (e.g. provision of Trustee information for regulatory check, etc.

Organisational support

  • Act as the main point of contact for the UK office (serviced/managed office) and ensure smooth running of the office and related admin processes, e.g. visitor accommodation, staff and visitor parking, etc.
  • Manage, triage and refer general enquiries.
  • Maintain insurance renewals, licences and subscriptions, e.g. relating to facilities, cybersecurity, charity and trustee management insurance, travel insurance, etc.
  • Maintain, in liaison with relevant colleagues, organisation records with Companies House and the Charity Commission.
  • Partner with colleagues across functions to support the planning and execution of major events or programmes (e.g. fundraising events, training programmes).

Other priorities as identified by the Executive Director, Global Hub.

Person Specification

The Executive Assistant will bring:

  • Executive support experience within an international organisation, including support to Boards.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to balance multiple and varied priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and risk awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills and high degree of professionalism working with internal and external stakeholders across levels and geographies.
  • Diplomacy and tact, and a high level of discretion in handling sensitive/confidential information.
  • Expertise in using a variety of software packages, digital platforms and tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Openness to learn and adapt and to support others to do so.
  • Interest in CAMFED’s mission.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK - Candidates will need to share proof that they have the right to work in the UK.
