Medivet Duke Street in Darlington, Co Durham has an opportunity for a keen Exotics Veterinary Surgeon to join this talented team.
Duke Street are proud to be an ISFM Gold Standard Cat Friendly and Exotic practice and are seeking a vet who has an interest in developing their skills in exotics or is already experienced in exotic medicine. Duke Street allows the team to treat exotic species and cats in a dedicated stress-free environment.
It has exceptionally high standards, that are consistently exercised throughout our 3 practice teams in the Darlington area.
Duke Street is situated in the centre of Darlington, adjacent to a beautiful park perfect for a relaxing lunch break.
Full time working pattern on 4 weekdays per week and 1 in 6 full weekends.

Role Accountabilities

- Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
- Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
- Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
- Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
- Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
- Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
- Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.
Your Skills and Experience
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
- Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
- Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
- Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
- Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
- Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
