Job description

Payroll Administrator/Office Administrator

This is a great opportunity to work for a multichannel communication company in North London as a Payroll and Office Administrator where you will join the finance team of 7 people.

You will be based in beautiful offices with excellent transport links on the mainline to Liverpool Street via Tottenham Hale/Seven Sisters and also close to the Victoria Line.

The successful candidate will be adaptable to change, have established but progressive payroll experience and have experience using CIVICA People. It will be an advantage if you have worked in a large company with lots of departments. The role will be a mixture of Payroll and Office Administration and in particular taking responsibility for ordering stationery and other essential items for the company.

The Role:

  • Responsible for the payment of paid staff
  • Calculating correct amounts to pay, deductions, overtime, bonuses, allowances for employees etc
  • Manually adjusting SMP, SSP, pay-rates and other miscellaneous adjustments
  • Run reports and produce p45
  • Inputting data onto Civica People
  • Arranging for payments to be made to employees
  • Processing starter/leaver details and bank details
  • Responding to payroll queries
  • General Office administration & other duties to help ensure the smooth running of a busy office

About you

  • Previous Payroll Assistant experience - ideal, but similar roles also considered
  • Experience using Civica People
  • Full Microsoft Word & Excel understanding
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good at problem solving and thinking logically
  • Good system knowledge
  • Able to use own initiative
  • Respectful of confidential information
