The Role:
As an External Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and building strong relationships with clients. Your role will include leading a team of Business Development Managers / Corporate Sales Manager's (BDMs/CSMs) and encompass a range of activities aimed at achieving sales targets, fostering customer satisfaction, and contributing to the overall success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales management, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Provide strong leadership to a team of BDMs / CSMs, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Set clear goals, targets, and expectations for the team, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, offer constructive feedback, and support professional development.
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Senior Management team to define sales targets and strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives.
Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:
- Lead the team in identifying, approaching, and acquiring new clients in the waste management sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Work closely with the BDMs / CSMs to understand client requirements and tailor solutions to meet their needs.
Sales Process Optimisation:
- Streamline and optimise the sales process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement and monitor best practices in sales methodologies, ensuring a consistent and cohesive approach across the team.
- Utilise CRM tools to track sales activities, analyse data, and generate relevant reports for decision-making.
Market Expansion:
- Identify opportunities for market expansion and diversification, exploring new sectors and geographies.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and implement campaigns that align with sales objectives.
