Salary: £46,118.69 per annum inclusive of the 1st April 2024 pay award 

Location: Manchester, Wythenshawe   

Hours of work 35 per week   

Permanent, full time

The Vacancy 

We’re looking for an Extra Care Manager to take overall management responsibility for the management of Village 135 and WCHG’s Extra Care services, including the provision of support in liaison with the local authority and care provider.  

You’ll ensure on-going viability and success of the Extra Care scheme by the facilitation and co-ordination of excellent housing related support, care, bistro contract management and other on-site facilities. The overall aim being to make residents feel valued and to promote independent living and inclusion, through customer experience.  

Village 135 is a modern and stylish development, which consists of 135 homes for the over 55's who need Extra Care support which are available for sale, shared ownership and rent. 

Residents can enjoy independent living in the privacy of their own self-contained apartment, whilst having the piece of mind of a permanent on-site care team and security. The Village also boasts excellent communal facilities, including a fantastic Bistro Restaurant, relaxing, revitalising Spa-Bathroom and Hair & Beauty Salon. 

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • To lead, manage, and motivate housing teams to deliver services of the highest quality to customers of high density in a multi tenure environment, demonstrating professionalism and integrity at all times, acting on and promoting customer voice at all times 

  • To develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures and practices for the efficient delivery of quality services 

  • To take overall management responsibility for the delivery of Extra Care services, across a high density multi tenure scheme  

  • To take overall management responsibility for the management of Village 135 and WCHG’s Extra Care services, including the provision of support in liaison with the local authority  

  • To ensure on-going viability and success of Extra Care schemes by the facilitation and co-ordination of excellent housing related support, care and other on-site facilities 
      

The development is located in a sought after area of Wythenshawe in South Manchester, which is known as 'Garden City'; where there are lots of shops, amenities, parks and transport links. Village 135 promotes a full and active lifestyle to residents who can participate in a range of activities designed to enrich their lifestyle, build friendships and provide new skills. 

In order to undertake this role to its fullest, you will require the following key skills, knowledge & experience: 

  • Due to the seniority of this role applicants must have either an appropriate professional housing qualification or have a willingness to study towards this 

  • Experience of managing a high density, multi tenure Extra Care scheme  

  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of social housing legislation and practice  

  • Working knowledge of social housing policies and procedures  

  • Knowledge of the care provision within Extra Care 

  • Proven track record in a social housing management position  

  • Preparing and managing budgets
