Fabricator_Welder_Machinist
Purpose of Role
To weld, fabricate and machine components from drawings, working to specific
tolerances and within agreed timeframes, ensuring all parts are available for the
assembly process as required and completed in a timely manner.
Reporting to: Machine Shop Manager
Key responsibilities/Activities:
Select appropriate welder/machine and tooling to manufacture components as
specified on drawings.
Promote a safe working environment, keep your working area clean & tidy.
Use of related shop equipment, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment.
Select appropriate materials for each job as described in the drawings.
Check and verify accuracy of components once manufactured (self-inspection)
Daily and accurate completion of records including timesheets/travelers.
Report any manufacturing errors to Machine Shop Manager, so corrective action
can be agreed.
Comply with all quality and health & safety procedures/practices.
Work closely with the machine shop team and support other departments to
ensure business objectives are achieved.
Other duties as may be required.

Background/Experience:
Successfully completed apprenticeship or national technical training program.
Ability to stick and Tig weld
Operate entry level (basic) the manual mill, manual lathe, and pillar drill
Experience of working with a wide variety of materials
Knowledge of manufacturing protocols
