Overall Purpose of the Role:
Forestry England is looking for an experienced Face 2 Face sales or fundraising manager to set up and run a new campaign to recruit new members to their annual membership product. Alongside our partner Inspired People you will set up and run a small team of membership recruiters who will be based in various forest locations initially in the north of England. You will develop and carry out the training for these teams, set them up at each location and manage them. You will be responsible for all aspects of performance management, results analysis and the ongoing training and management of the teams. The role will involve a large amount of travel between sites.

Main areas of responsibility:
Management
● Set up and Manage up to 6 Teams or recruiters across forests though out UK
● Accountable for the performance of teams to hit recruitment targets
● Ensure that each Recruiter fully understands their role and responsibilities and is able to achieve their targets and KPIs in line with agreed budgets
● Monitor performance of recruiters and where necessary implement appropriate performance management measures
Compliance and monitoring
● Accountable for field compliance in relation to each forest
● Ensure recruiters behave in a manner consistent with FE’s values, code of conduct for each site.
● Accountable for the safeguarding of FE’s reputation by field teams
Recruitment
● Work alongside Inspired People to interview and appoint at least two recruiters for each site.
● Ensure enough recruiters are hired to meet budgeted targets
● Monitor the quality of candidates sent to interview and feed back to Inspired People
● Overall accountability for the retention of recruiters
Training and Development
● Alongside Inspired People, create and deliver classroom training for each recruiter
● Work side by side with recruiters to support, motivate and empower them to achieve their maximum performance
● Responsible for the delivery of ongoing recruiter training in the field
● Maintain excellent knowledge of FE and recruiting techniques
● Constantly look to aid personal development through mentoring, coaching and guiding of recruiters.
You will have:
- Significant experience as a sales or fundraising manager
- Strong operational knowledge of face-to-face recruiting
- Track record of motivating and managing groups of recruiters and performance management
- Experience creating and delivering training
- Excellent interpersonal skills, along with the ability to develop strong working relationships with external partners and internal departments
- IT literate – Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- An understanding of and passion for environmental issues and FE’s work.
- Drivers licence and own vehicle.
