Salary: £28,694

Location: Blackpool

Why are you here?
The Caretaker Working Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, safety and repair is maintained to our estates and blocks through the supervision of our Caretaker team. You will work within the Repairs team but also closely with colleagues across the Customer Services Directorate to ensure we offer attractive places to live and work for our customers and the wider community.
You will be a point of contact for customer queries about the service when on site and manage customer expectations. You will promote a positive image of Great Places through the establishment of good working relationships with customers by being present in our neighbourhoods.
What you’ll be doing
  • You will line manage a dedicated mobile team of 6 Caretakers working in 3 teams of 2 following daily schedules of site visits across Manchester, Cheshire, Stockport and Yorkshire areas.
  • Overseeing the day to day work of the regional Caretaker team delivering a high standard of communal cleaning, minor repairs, H&S checks and Estate based services in Great Places neighbourhoods, ensuring customers receive a high quality, responsive and cost effective service, which offers value for money.
  • To offer support, knowledge and expertise to the regional Caretaker team, to ensure they have the skills required to deliver the services.
  • Ensure appropriate Health and Safety checks are carried out and risk assessments are in place, and communicate to Caretakers about their obligations around working safely to protect themselves and customers.
  • Ensuring regular and good lines of communication with your team e.g. team meetings, Toolbox talks etc.
  • Carrying out monthly inspections ensuring standards internally and externally are high, areas are clean and safe for customers at all times.
  • Assist with the allocation and monitoring of workloads via the PDAs and Aareon 1st Touch, assisting Caretakers to plan and prioritise their workloads e.g. compiling and managing, cleaning schedules and block/ estate visits, maintenance jobs.

What you’ll need
  • A full clean drivers licence
  • Competent in IT and using PDA
  • Experience of working in a supervisory/lead role is desirable
  • Experience of implementing and maintaining a health and safety aware environment, ensuring safe working practices and risk assessments are adhered to by all.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Experience delivering training/ coaching and tool box talks
  • BICS/NVQ qualification in Cleaning & Support Services
  • Ability to manage your own time and work to deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a positive can do attitude
  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment, with a proven ability of delivering a high standard of customer service.

For the purposes of our van fleet insurance you must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience with a full UK driving licence, be over the age of 21 and complete an on-line driver monitoring Assessment prior to starting your role.
If you are under 21 but with 2 years driving experience with a full UK driving licence you would be required to complete an on-line driver monitoring assessment and additional in vehicle assessment prior to starting your role funded by Great Places.
