We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Facilities Assistant in our Operational Support Unit, 14 hours per week. Could you be who we are looking for?

About the team/Department you will be joining:

Cardiff & Vale BCU are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible individual to provide a first-rate Handy-Person and transport service across the Cardiff and Vale area. The successful candidate will form part of a wider Facilities and Admin Team, have access to a van, and have generous annual leave and flexible working entitlements. Interested candidates must have a current valid driving licence which must be maintained and should have a basic knowledge of DIY and gardening, be IT literate and comfortable liaising with staff and officers at all levels.

About the role and your key responsibilities:

In a multi-functional environment, the role of a Facilities Assistant will involve overseeing 5 premises, undertaking ‘handy-person’ duties such as fire alarm testing and regular equipment checks, legionella flushing, removal of confidential waste, gardening and weeding, litter picking, office moves, general tidying of the stations and grounds, reporting defects, delivery/collection of goods, within the BCU, and at times across the Force area. There will also be a requirement to support and provide resilience in the absence of Facilities Assistant colleagues in neighbouring Stations, as and when necessary.

Essential Skills for the role:

Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft applications.

Must have experience in general maintenance duties

Must have a current valid driving licence which must be maintained.

This role is suitable for part time/job share workers

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to RV Vetting.
