We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Site Assistant to assistant in the maintenance and upkeep of our sites and grounds.
The successful candidate will need to build good working relationships throughout the company and with external suppliers. Excellent organisational skills are a must as is the ability to prioritise daily and weekly workloads. You will be self-motivated and have a flexible approach to needs and tasks required and be prepared to work outside of normal hours if required.
Working Hours:
Usual hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7am - 3pm
May be required to work some hours outside of normal working hours, including weekends.
Rate of Pay:
£23,500 to £24,500 dependant on experience
Overtime is paid at time plus ½
Key responsibilities and accountabilities (not limited to):
- Work with the Facilities Manager to ensure security of site.
- Maintaining grounds, ensuring lawn areas are kept tidy.
- Maintaining car park and outdoor areas, ensuring they are kept clean and free from debris.
- Using sweeper truck to ensure internal floor spaces are kept clear.
- Carry out minor repairs on site.
- Internal and External decoration.
- Report any major faults, repairs that required qualified personnel to resolve.
- Supervise external contractors (ensure appropriate paperwork; access etc).
- Assist with statutory testing of fire extinguishers; fire alarms, emergency lights etc.
Key Skills Required:
Essential
o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
o Excellent organisational skills
o Ability to prioritise workload
o Flexibility towards tasks and working hours
o Good experience of general maintenance
o Excellent Health & Safety knowledge and awareness
Preferable (but training will be given)
o Experience of driving cherry pickers, scissor lifts.
o Valid FLT Certification an advantage
