As a Facilities and Services Co-ordinator, you'll keep our hubs running to provide the best possible working environment and support for our key teams dedicated to conserving, protecting and promoting our special places.

You'll be part of the wider Business Services team that supports the Consultancy and Regional Management Team. Our Team are trailblazers who lead for positive change by being future-focused, who look to identify and build on new ways of working, adapting the technology we have available to provide value for money and effective, efficient, and consistent service.

Hours: This role fits into the bigger jigsaw of the Regional Business Services Team, and we can be flexible about the hours you will work. This role could be full-time, at 37.5 hours per week, or part-time hours (starting at 18.75 hours) to suit your personal circumstances. It’s more about doing the job well than rigidly following office hours.

Contract: Fixed-term contract for 2 years

If you have any questions about this role, please contact Liam.Weatherill@nationaltrust.org.uk

For this role, we will conduct face-to-face interviews at the National Trust Grasmere Hub on Thursday, 1st February 2024. (This listing is scheduled to close on or before Sunday, 28th January 2024)

What it's like to work here

The North Region of the National Trust is large, spanning from Manchester and Cheshire in the south of the region to the Scottish borders in the north.  Our systems have been set up to enable you to enjoy a hybrid working arrangement where you can choose the best working environment for the task in hand, but this role does require a minimum of four half days working on-site. We’re a flexible employer and supportive of helping you find a healthy work-life balance.

We have 5 office Hubs within the North region, and you will be part of our team of Facilities Co-ordinators. You'll be based at our Grasmere Regional

Hub to help us coordinate compliance and maintenance in the Hub.

What you'll be doing

The National Trust is a busy organisation- you can guarantee that no day is the same, so you'll have to love variety and working at pace. You'll be part of a team that provides specialist support to our Regional Director, Assistant Directors, and Internal Consultants. You'll help us plan and prepare for future activity and will be an active, passionate part of our team and the Regional and National Business Services communities.

In the Facilities element of the role, you’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery of an efficient, effective, flexible service to enable the successful operation of our Grasmere Hub. You’ll support the team in meeting its objectives by ensuring high standards are delivered and always maintained. You’ll undertake tasks such as supervising contractors, preparing meeting rooms, and coordinating services such as deliveries and collections from the Hub.

You’ll assist with planned, preventative and reactive maintenance and repairs, including using National Trust business systems to ensure that the Grasmere Hub is safe and compliant with Health and Safety regulations.

In the Business Services element of the role, you'll always champion best practice when it comes to service and will be confident challenging the norm when you think there's a better way of doing something. On any given day, you could be helping to arrange a region-wide event or looking at ways to review and improve a process. You'll connect and form strong relationships with the Internal Consultancy and with the other Regional Business Services and Facilities Coordinators.

Who we're looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you have;

  • Experience in a facilities and/or services role
  • Flexible customer service approach and understanding of good customer service
  • Good organisation skills with attention to detail
  • A strong communicator with good interpersonal skills who can confidently and present their ideas and those of others
  • A confident multitasker, happy to roll their sleeves up and help us get the job done and able to prioritise their own workload and work in collaboration with other departments
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office) and happy to learn and explore new technology and systems as well as share the knowledge with others
  • A logical thinker who can understand how things fit together and spot the opportunities that appear
  • A process thinker with an inquiring mind who loves to explore the intricacies of how things work and what we can do to improve them.
