Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician - Student Accommodation

Total Staff is currently recruiting on behalf of a leading provider of student accommodation committed to creating a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents. We are currently seeking a versatile and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team on a permanent contract. This role involves handling various aspects of fixing and fittings within student accommodation in Bristol.

Key Responsibilities:

General Maintenance and Repairs:

Undertake routine maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of fixtures and fittings.
Address issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, doors, windows, and other building components.
Perform minor repairs on furniture, equipment, and appliances.

Carpentry and Basic Construction:

Utilize carpentry skills to repair and construct internal structures.
Assemble and install furniture, shelves, and other fittings as needed.
Troubleshoot and repair minor issues with doors, windows, and cabinetry.

Painting and Decorating:

Conduct painting and decorating tasks to enhance the aesthetic appeal of internal spaces.
Patch and repair walls and ceilings as required.
Coordinate with other teams to maintain a cohesive and visually pleasing environment.

Plumbing and Electrical Tasks:

Address plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and fixture installations.
Conduct basic electrical repairs and installations, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Collaborate with specialized technicians for complex plumbing and electrical work.

Adaptability and Team Collaboration:

Demonstrate a jack-of-all-trades approach to handle a variety of maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with other maintenance Team Members to address broader facility needs.
Assist in coordinating with external contractors for specialized tasks when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in facilities maintenance, covering a range of tasks.
• Versatility and proficiency in various maintenance skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full UK Driving License
